Marigot Bay sits 25 minutes south of Castries, a sheltered inlet ringed by rainforest and mangrove. James Michener called it the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean, and the yacht traffic still proves the point. This is the base for travelers who want quiet, food-forward days between Rodney Bay energy and Soufrière drama.
The three Marigot Bay resorts we recommend
- Marigot Bay Resort (Marriott Autograph Collection). Terraced rooms above the marina, three restaurants, spa, ferry across the bay. $380 to $780 per room per night. The reliable pick.
- Zoetry Marigot Bay. Adults-only wellness all-inclusive on the north side of the bay, hillside suites with plunge pools. $650 to $1,200 per couple per night all-inclusive.
- Villas across the bay. A cluster of independent villa rentals reached by the free water taxi. Best for groups of four or six who want a kitchen and a private dock.
Getting there
George F.L. Charles (SLU) is 35 minutes north. Hewanorra International (UVF) is 70 to 90 minutes south. Both resorts include return airport transfer on premium tiers. The road in from Castries drops sharply on the last mile, so budget an extra 10 minutes on rain days.
What Marigot Bay is not
Not the base for Piton-view honeymoons (Soufrière is 45 minutes further south). Not the base for walkable nightlife (the marina is quiet after 10pm). Not the cheapest option; entry-level rates run above Rodney Bay independents. If any of those matter, book elsewhere and treat Marigot Bay as a lunch stop.
