A Piton-view honeymoon in Soufrière is a completely different trip from a family all-inclusive in Rodney Bay, even if the flight is the same. How to choose between Soufrière and Rodney Bay
The most common first-time question. Rodney Bay is the resort strip, 15 minutes from George F.L. Charles airport and 75 minutes from Hewanorra. Reduit Beach is the anchor. Sandals Grande St Lucian sits at the tip of the peninsula, next to Pigeon Island. If you want walkable restaurants, Friday-night jump-up at Gros Islet, and an all-inclusive that runs itself, Rodney Bay is the pick.
Soufrière is 90 minutes south of Rodney Bay by road (add 25 percent for regular Castries traffic). The Pitons are here. Jade Mountain, Anse Chastanet, Ladera, Sugar Beach and StoneField are here. If Piton views are on your list, or if you want the reef diving at Anse Chastanet, or if the trip is a milestone anniversary, Soufrière is the pick. Two nights minimum.
