In one sentence: Anse Chastanet is Jade Mountain’s more relaxed sister, better priced, jungle-forward, and the strongest resort dive access in St Lucia.

Who it’s for

Couples and small families who want Soufrière rainforest, Piton proximity, and a proper reef under the room. Divers and snorkelers looking for a resort with in-house PADI and house-reef access. Not for guests who need TVs, mainstream all-inclusive dining, or an elevator (rooms are staggered up 600 feet of hillside).

Location + rooms

Soufrière, directly below Jade Mountain on the reef at Anse Chastanet Beach and Anse Mamin Beach. 49 rooms across Standard, Superior, Deluxe, Premium, and Beachfront categories. From $650 per night Standard; Beachfront Deluxe $1,100 to $1,400 in peak. Hewanorra (UVF) is 60 to 75 minutes by road; boat transfer from Rodney Bay by arrangement.

What we liked

  • House reef is a genuine dive site. Scuba St Lucia runs from the beach, and the walls off Anse Chastanet are the best resort diving in the country.
  • Anse Mamin, the second beach, is a 10-minute walk through cocoa woods; effectively private.
  • Emerald Farm cocoa tour and the Wednesday chocolate buffet are cross-property benefits with Jade Mountain.
  • Room 14 Piton view from Premium hillside is the sleeper category; ask for it by number.

What could be better

  • The hillside walk is real: 100+ steps between the beach and top-tier rooms, no elevator, buggy service ends at midnight.
  • Standard rooms lack air conditioning by design; verify comfort tolerance before booking if you sleep hot.
  • Food is good but a step below Jade Mountain Club or Cliff at Cap Maison.
