Who it’s for

Returning Sandals guests, golf-forward couples, and travelers who want a big-resort estate feel over the beach-walking density of Grande St Lucian. Not the top pick for first-time Sandals guests who default to Grande’s Rodney Bay setting or for anyone who wants a short taxi to Soufrière (La Toc is 20 minutes north of Castries).

Perched on a 210-acre hillside estate at La Toc Bay, 10 minutes south of George F.L. Charles airport (SLU) and 90 minutes from Hewanorra (UVF). 328 rooms across Beachfront, Grande Luxe, and Rondoval suite categories. From $340 per couple per night all-inclusive; Millionaire Rondovals from $1,100 per couple per night.

What we liked

  • Nine-hole executive golf course on the estate; green fees included.
  • The Rondoval suites are a genuine architectural highlight, semi-detached with private plunge pools.
  • Kimonos and Bayside are two of the stronger Sandals restaurants in St Lucia.
  • SLU airport transfer is 10 minutes; useful after a red-eye.

What could be better

  • The beach is a workable cove, not the wide strip you get at Grande St Lucian. Set expectations.
  • Hillside layout means shuttle rides for guests in Beachfront rooms who want to reach hilltop dining.
  • Feels dated in the standard categories; the resort last had a large refurb in 2018.

Booking guide

Best months: January through April for dry-season golf. Book 4 to 6 months out for Rondoval categories. Sandals runs shoulder-season 30 to 45 percent BOGO promotions in May and September; sign up for their alerts before you price.
