Travel to St. Lucia and Find Love on the Beach-A Valentine’s Day Introduction

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day I thought that I would begin this blog with a St. Lucian love story about falling in love on the beach in St. Lucia. The first time I travelled to St. Lucia on vacation I was walking on the beach and I met the most crudest and crass man I had ever come across in my life! He introduced himself as JK from London. He was bold but cute and I loved the accent! We had a brief conversation, about what I cannot recall (I think it was some mention of my breasts since I was in my bikini) and since he was so crude I quickly went on my way. But the next few days I could not get him off my mind. I kept thinking, who was that guy with the English accent?

A few days later I was walking on the beach again an up pops JK. He was much more subtle this time and I really wanted to talk to him to see what he was all about. We instantly had chemistry and began to play and frolic in the water. Ladies have you ever met someone and you just clicked? You don’t know what it is but you want to know more about that person and you feel comfortable as if you have known them for years? Well that’s how it was with JK. That day I was at the beach with a group of friends and family and when they were all leaving I decided to stay and continue my frolicking with JK. We had a fantastic time on the beach and when we left he even rubbed the sand off my feet! **I’m a sucker for a good foot rub. He dropped me off at my villa and I wasn’t sure if I would see him again since we did not exchange contact information. Later that evening I went to dinner with my family and when I returned there was JK sitting on the steps of my villa waiting for me to return. Now that says something when a man seeks you out and he doesn’t or didn’t even really know where I was staying or whether or not he’s welcome there. I’m just glad he wasn’t a stalker type.

I invited him in and we had drinks that night and talked all night long (keep in mind that there were other people staying in the villa so I felt safe). The next day we spent some time together that morning before he had to leave for another part of the island and I had to catch my flight home to the U.S. When I arrived home there were 4 or 5 messages from JK all speaking of love and kisses and fond memories of our brief time spent together. After a few days of conversation back and forth while I was in the U.S. and he was still in St. Lucia I decided to use my airline miles to return and see what this guy is really all about. Boy was I glad I did!

The next two weeks were spent in blissful splendor of love on the island of St. Lucia. We danced, we ate, and we frolicked. We explored all the St. Lucia attractions from the beautiful beaches, to the magnificent view of the Pitons from Dasheen restaurant at Ladera Resort, to partying and shaking our grove things at the Lime. After returning to our home countries we continued a long distance relationship for quite a while. I would go to London he would come to the U.S. We would meet back up in St. Lucia again for our anniversary. But alas it was not to be.

There is a saying by Alfred Lord Tennyson, “Tis better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all”. Well I think that’s true because I always think back fondly on those memories and what’s most important is that although my love with JK is gone my love for St. Lucia is strong and will never die! I think, no as a matter of fact I know, that because of those memories with JK I love St. Lucia even more. So much so that I have created this blog, which will be dedicated to all things St. Lucia and other travel topics related to St. Lucia. I will try my best to provide anyone who plans to travel to St. Lucia all the information they may need. For example things to do, where to stay, places to eat, what to bring etc.

St. Lucia is one of the best wedding and honeymoon destinations in the world. As you can see from my experience there is much love to find on the island and anywhere in the world for that matter. I am still looking for love but maybe I will find it again when I go to the St. Lucia Jazz festival this year!

P.S. Do you have a vacation love story that you would like to share? I would love to hear about it!
